    Hi folks, I am interested to hear opinions about %. I am a little confused as to how it works. It seems always that it takes fewer games do go down in % than it does to go up. For instance, let's say I'd played around 3000 games and had just gone up to 47%, then won five games in a row. Then I lose a couple of games and see that I've gone back down to 46% and it takes me like four more straight wins to get back up to 47% again. Is it me or is that math a bit off?

    It could be you. Counting the losses as couple of games when they are actually more.

    If you have 3000 played games and your percentage goes up to 47, then the lowest number of wins you could have is 1395 for your stats to round up to 47 %. 1395/3000 % = 46,5 -> rounds up to 47 %.

    Then you win five games in row: 1400/3005 % = 46,589... -> 47 %.

    According to my calculations starting from these numbers you will need six losses in row for your percentage to drop back to 46 %.

    ...
    5th loss: 1400/3010 % = 46,511... -> 47 %.
    6:th loss: 1400/3011 % = 46,496... -> 46 %.

    You claim that it takes you 4 more straight wins to get back up.

    1 win: 1401/3012 % = 46,498... -> 46 %.
    2 wins in row: 1402/3013 % = 46,531... -> 47 %.
    3 wins in row: 1403/3014 % = 46,549... -> 47 %.
    4 wins in row: 1404/3015 % = 46,567... -> 47 %.

    ---

    In case they don't round up at all, your wins at 3000 must be 1410 for you to get 47 %.

    You win 5 as you say: 1415/3005 = 47,088... -> 47 %.

    How many losses until your back at 46 %? 1415/3011 = 46,994... back at 46 %. Six losses.

    How many straight wins to get back up:

    1 win should get you back up: 1416/3012 = 47,011... -> 47 %.

    ---

    I conclude that either your "couple of losses" are much more than just six or there's something wrong. I may be way off here and done some terrible mistakes, so my reply could be totally bogus.
