I would like to make a dedication to all the mental health care professionals.

God only knows they have a tough job and need a world of patience.

It is a shame that for every one person who seeks help....there are probably at least a hundred people who never seek help.

I don't know if it is because they don't realize they need help.....or think they can "deal" with it themselves.

A DEDICATION TO THE AUTUMN ( FALL)!

                              MY FAVORITE SEASON!

The Autumn officially has started 2 days ago.

Here in Greece, it will start tomorrow night,

with rain and with the temperature to drop from 30C-32C,

22C -24C and a lot less at the dawn.

Nothing is more beautiful, than all these colorful leaves,

on the trees and on the ground!

                              And i adore the rain!!!

I hope that among you all, there are some like me,

who feel really happy now that the summer is over!

I think Autumn is the most beautiful season of them all.

Though it actually means all the leaves on the trees are dying so the trees

will sleep for the winter....they do it in the most beautiful way.

It is also the time of year we here celebrate Thanksgiving....which is

                                my favorite holiday.

Like Kostas and Linda, I love Autumn too.

Trees burnished gold, glowing under sapphire skies,

shiny brown acorns and crisp leaves crunching underfoot,

squirrels foraging for their Winter stores and

                                  crimson hips and haws gleaming

                                  like precious jewels.

Today here in Greece, we are celebrating the OHI (No) Day!

Ohi Day, commemorated, the rejection by Greek Prime Minister Ioannis Metaxas,

of the Ultimatum, made by Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, on October 1940,

the Hellenic counterattack, against the invading Italian forces,

at the mountains of Pindus, during the Greco-Italian War

and the Greek Resistance, during the Axis occupation.

This dedication is for our brave soldiers,

who fought on the snowy Pindos mountains, against the Italians and Won!!!

And it was then, when Winston Churchill had said:

" Greeks don't fight like Heroes, but Heroes fight like Greeks! "

                                    We are celebrating the NO,

that our prime Minister Ioannis Metaxas, said,

to the Italian ambassador to Greece, Emanuele Grazzi,

                                    without a second thought,

shortly, after 03:00 am, on 28 October 1940.

Emanuele Grazzi, had demended Greece, to allow Axis forces,

to enter Greek territori and to occupy certain, unspecified "strategic locations",

                                    Or, otherwise, face war .

Metaxas replied saying, "alors, c'est la guerre!"

( So, this is war! ), which was a big NO!!!

In response to Metaxas's refusal, Italian troops stationed in Albania,

then an Italian protectorate, attacked the Greek border at 05:30 am,

which was the beginning of Greece's participation in World War II.

                                    The events of 1940,

are commemorated every year with military and student parades.

                                    On every anniversary,

most public buildings and residences are decorated with Greek flags.

Here are the Greek women, carrying munitions, food and clothing for the fighting soldiers.

OHI DAY. The NO Day. 28 October 1940. Greece .
Looking at the invaluable historical photos I can't help but notice that the freezing cold and snowy weather the soldiers had to fight in and that the women folk had to go through to help their men .

That Winston Churchill had complimented "Greeks don't fight like Heroes but Heroes fight like Greeks," shows how awesome those soldiers were and such great bravery .

                                          A proud day for Greece.

I think it is wonderful that you remember and honour
the bravery and resilience of your country and its people,
                                          during that desperate time.
